For the terrain I first created a larger plane for the environment, and scaled the size larger in the settings.
I then choose one of the textures I wanted as the base for the ground and altered the size as the default was wrong, it took me a while to fix but once corrected I then went onto creating multiple brush layers to use later.
I created layers for the sand, grass, ground and mud and then first used the grass to create a path from the shed to the beginning of the stage, I also added some mud where the path may have been walked on, and used the sand for a later beach type area.
The next step was the terrain sculpting in which I first changed the brush size and then began raising the ground around the grass, I did this in a circular motion and once I had raised the ground to a desirable level, I then did the same near the shed area but set a limited height so I could raise the ground just enough to fit under the shed creating a platform.
