On the latest task we had to add a background to a stopanimation video the video consisted of my friend jumping we first had to clip out each jump at its highest and add it onto a new sequence we then had to use the ultra key to create a mask and cut out around his body this had to be quite precise to work well following this we use the matte generation to change the transperancy highlight and shadow so that the area around him was completly greened out
finally we added a background behind him on mine it gave the effect of him floating around in the sky.
All this was based from a video we watched by Norman Mclaren called neighbors which was made using stopmotions.
it included various movements and expressions through the effect of stopmotions including the jump which we did.
As seen on the second image we did a stopmotion animation of jumps in the air which gave the effect of floating but on ours we also added a background using the greenscreen.
William Norman McLaren was born in Stirling, Scotland on the 11 April 1914.When McLaren was 22, he left Stirling and studied set design at the Glasgow School of Art. McLaren joined the Kinecraft Society at the Glasgow School of Art while he was studying there, it was within the society that he began to experiment with different styles and techniques of filmmaking. It was also at the Glasgow School of Art that McLaren met Helen Biggar, they produced films together outside the School and sought to have their productions released nationally. His early experiments with film and animation included actually scratching and painting the film stock itself, as he did not have ready access to a camera. His earliest extant film, Seven Till Five (1933), a "day in the life of an art school" was influenced by Eisenstein and displays a strongly formalist attitude. His two early films won prizes at the Scottish Amateur Film Festival, where fellow Scot and future NFB founder John Grierson was a judge.
