Today we have been going over
the uncanny valley, realism and stylisation.
There are two different ways
we can make something seem realistic the first is making something
photorealistic for example a game character which mimics an actual human to
make it seem real. The second way is stylisation to give a non-human character
human like features.
These two stages fit into the
uncanny valley which is a scale that shows how realistic something is and the
emotional response people have towards it photorealism and stylisation being
the current best answer for making something seem realistic and alive.
